A Very Beachy Christmas

There are few better ways to spend the holidays than at the beach with your family, making sand angels, and opening presents as the waves crash upon the shore. Sometimes, however, it’s not always possible for you to actually make it to the beach for the holidays. But that doesn’t mean you can’t bring a little bit of the beach to your home! Here are some of our favorite tips for beaching up your holiday celebrations:

Make Beach-Themed Food. Get fancy by scouring Pinterest for creative beach food ideas like sand dollar cinnamon sugar cookies, “starfish” sandwiches, or fish bowl punch. Or, fall back on old standards like crab dip, popcorn shrimp, or fish and chips. Channel the beach as you’re cooking and it’s easier than you think to bring a little bit of the beach to your dining room table!

Beach Ornaments. Go the easy route and buy beach-themed ornaments from your local Hallmark store or try your hand at some DIY Christmas ornaments. Start simple by spray painting seashells and hanging them from the tree, or get a little more complicated and create a seashell garland for the tree made out of twine and starfish! Either way, you’re sure to feel more festive!

Calypso Christmas Music. By the time Christmas rolls around, you’ve probably heard enough Mariah Carey and Andy Williams to last you for the next 8 months. Mix up your Christmas tunes by perusing the “Calypso Christmas” section on Amazon. It’s hard not to feel relaxed as you’re curled up next to the fire, listening to “Joy To The World” played on steel drums.

Seashell Centerpiece. Put your creativity and DIY skills to use by creating your own Christmas-themed seashell centerpiece! Fill jars with sand and seashells, or peruse Pinterest for other fun ideas, like this one made from ornaments, seashells, and pearls that’s sure to be the talk of the holiday table for years to come!

Christmas Tree Contest

We’re still recovering from our Thanksgiving Turkey hangover, but that doesn’t mean we can’t also be excited to get into the holiday spirit with a Christmas Contest!

Our favorite part of the holidays has to be seeing all the Christmas trees on display. Some of our favorite memories have been around the Christmas tree–decorating it as a child, sitting around it opening Christmas presents on Christmas morning, making memories with our children while stringing up lights or making ornaments. To celebrate the wonder that is the Christmas tree, we’re hosting a Christmas Tree contest on our Facebook page

To enter, all you need to do is submit a photo of your Christmas tree to our Facebook page by 12/22 and encourage your friends and family to submit their photos as well by sharing our contest photo. Everyone* who submits a photo of their tree will be entered into a drawing drawn by Santa Claus himself on 12/23! The winner will receive a $50 Visa gift card, just in time for the holidays! You’ll receive one entry for your photo submission and an additional entry for sharing our contest photo! Submit your photo now!

*Only one photo submission per person will be considered, so make it your best!*
