If you’re like the rest of us you’re ready for the warmth of spring to arrive and this crazy winter weather to just cease and desist. Now that we’ve turned our clocks ahead (the first positive sign of spring) we have some early spring events you won’t want to miss! Come out and celebrate St. Patricks Day on March 17, the first day of Spring on March 21, and Easter Sunday on April 5. These are all early spring events that bring us one step closer to the heat of summer! The 6th Annual Irish Fest will be held at The Market Common on Saturday, March 14 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Come join us to enjoy Irish beers, Irish food, live entertainment, a variety of vendors and plenty of kid’s activities at Valor Park. An assortment of beers will be available for purchase including Highland Gaelic, Brooklyn Irish Stout, and Goose Island IPA. Painted Man will perform.
A free St. Patrick’s 2-Day Concert will take place in downtown Myrtle Beach on Saturday and Sunday, March 14-15. Performers on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. will include Dino Capone’s School of Rock, The Reggie Sullivan Band, the Paul Grimshaw Band, A Nickel Bag of Funk The Delta Saints and Honor By August. On Sunday, from 12 noon until 9 p.m. come watch the “Battle of the Bands” where over half a dozen regional bands will compete to be a part of the upcoming Hot Summer Nights 2015 annual entertainment.
The 1st annual Taste of Surfside Beach is an 8-day event sponsored by The Town of Surfside Beach to promote the local restaurants. Beginning Saturday, March 21 the event runs through Saturday, March 28, so you’ll have plenty of time to take advantage of the great discounts. A $10 passport will entitle you to discounts at many businesses throughout town. Passports are available for purchase at Surfside Beach Town Hall and local branches of the South State Bank. There will be a Grand Finale and Raffle Drawing held between 3-6 p.m. on Sat., March 28 at Neal and Pam’s. Raffle tickets are being sold and prizes valued up to $1,000 will be awarded. Grand prize is a 3-day 2-night vacation for two that includes one breakfast and one dinner. All proceeds go to the American Red Cross. Location of event is 115 Highway 17 North, Surfside Beach.
The Surfside Beach Easter Egg Hunt takes place at Huckabee Complex, 115 Highway 17 North, Surfside Beach, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 5. The public is invited to attend this free event.
Breakfast with the Easter Bunny will take place on Saturday, April 4 from 9-10:30 a.m. at the Hard Rock Café at Broadway at the Beach. Come out with your family to enjoy a breakfast buffet that includes freshly baked biscuits and sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, home fried potatoes and much more all for a price of $9.95 per person!
